Hello fellow writers!

The first thing you may notice is that WritersLatte is all one word without a proper apostrophe, and OMG a capital letter in the middle of the word! Yes it is one word. No I will not put an apostrophe in. No I will not lowercase the L. It is a brand name, so please don't send me emails correcting it. Seriously! I've gotten too many already.

WritersLatte was an idea I had while back in college refreshing my web skills. I have been a technical writer for over 15 years, but I have never given up on the dream to write fiction. My children were growing faster than I wanted and my job had become so stagnant and un-creative so I decided to partner my two loves together and see where the road took me. I also needed an excuse and a push. I needed to take the time to write creatively. I couldn't quit my day job of writing technically, and I am currently still publishing non-fiction, but I'm not getting any younger and the dream must be fulfilled!

The original concept I had was that WL would be an online writing community, writing reference desk, and sort of an online writers encyclopedia. If a community builds up around the idea, so much the better!

This is a place to break the rules and maybe invent new ones. This is a place where edits come later because this site is all about creativity, pushing yourself and your limits, and honing your craft. The late nights of revision, grammar and punctuation, those can come later. Here we are free. Here we express, not correct. At least not until the time for correcting is upon us. Be kind, to yourself and others. Be supportive, be optimistically critical where need be, but above all WRITE!
